1 Negative sentence
а) Отрицательное предложение образуется с помощью отрицательной формы глагола (см. Verb: negative form)I am not fond of him. — Я его не люблю.
б) Отрицание могут выражать: союз neither... nor; отрицательные квантификаторы (Negative quantifiers), а также слова с ограничительным значением ( rarely, seldom, hardly, scarcely, barely, few, little). В английском языке, в отличие от русского, невозможно "двойное отрицание": если в предложении есть отрицательный квантификатор, то отрицательная форма глагола не употребляется.Joe never comes on time. — Джо никогда не приходит вовремя.
а) Если в придаточном предложении, введенном союзом that, содержится отрицание, то оно может быть "перенесено" в главное предложение. Особенно типичен такой перенос при глаголах think, believe, expect etc.I don't think you should speak like that, Carey.
